In the afternoon of June 2, 2015, the ADF team summoned the Volunteer Task Force for a meeting regarding the following activities:

  • Discussion about the upcoming June 12 event for Child Labor Day
  • Brainstorming for ideas regarding the themes of music videos

The children were thrilled to hear about both activities, and participated with zest and enthusiasm. They, along with the ADF staff, discussed how a sports activity would be suitable for the event. Football was the chosen winner. Venue, number of participants, refreshment, everything was decided. The Task Force took on the responsibility of gathering the participants (street children/laboring children), and convincing them to become a part of the activity with ADF.

Then, for the second activity, thematic areas for the Child Rights videos were discussed. Those include:

  • Child Labor
  • Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation
  • Early Child Marriages
  • Corporal Punishment
  • Child Trafficking

In order to choose the theme, the volunteers made groups of two, and role-played different aspects to make things easier for them to understand.

In the end, they were given a two week deadline to work on:

  • Lyrics for the Child Rights song
  • Coming up with proper ideas for the music video
  • Discussing if they can come up with a tune

The volunteers were very cheery and excited about actually getting to participate in both activities.
