On Wednesday 31st August 2016, ADF carried out an Awareness Raising Workshop on Early Child Marriage at Rahim Yar Khan, Punjab.
The Training Workshop commenced with the recitation of The Holy Quran.The Attendance Sheet and Baseline Form were circulated amongst the participants for completion.Mr Abdul Basit started the session by welcoming the participants, guests and guests of honour. Mr Waqas Ali presented a welcome note and introduction of ADF. The objective and aims of the workshop were also presented with the introduction.
The objectives of the session included:
1. How to increase awareness on The Child Marriage Restraint Act 1929
2. How to increase School Enrolment for out of school children
3. How to increase the number of reported cases of Early Child Marriages
4. How to advocate for better response and recognition from the government
5. How to ensure more strict regulations on this crime.
