The Seminar on Manifesto Analysis, Advocacy and Lobbying and Civic Engagement was arranged in Serena Hotel Islamabad on 29th November 2016. Speakers from different Political Parties attended the seminar. Ms Nafeesa Khattak from PTI, Hafiz Hamullah from JUIF, Main Attique from MQM,Senator Mrs Sitara Ayaz from ANP. The speakers spoke on Manifesto of their Concern Parties. The session was concluded by Mr Habib Malik Orakzai president PIHRO and shields were distributed among the speakers.
The second session of the Seminar was on Advocacy and Lobbying, speakers from different NGOs and Madia groups attended the seminar, Mr Nasir Habib TV anchor, Roze TV moderated the session, Mr Saleem Safi Senior journalist, columnist, defence analyst and current affairs talk show anchor shared his views on Role of Media in Advocacy and Lobbying. Ms Sadaf Raza, Director Ideas for Life Trust Spoke on Strategic Skills and methods in Advocacy campaign, Professor Farkhnada Aurangzeb Director Resource Mobilization and Coordination Aurat Foundation and Ms Meerab Lodhi from Rozan shared their views on Awareness Raising and Capacity Building through Advocacy and Lobbying. Mr Safder Raza Country Advocacy Manager Plan International Pakistan shared his experience and point of views on the Importance of Building Alliances and Networks. Barrister Mr Yousaf Khosa Senior Partner at RIAA Barker Gilette Islamabad spoke on The Legislative Process and Legislative Advocacy. The session was concluded by Ms Nazia Sabir Raja Executive Director Aizan Development Foundation and shields were distributed among the speakers.
The third session of the seminar was on Civic Engagement. Speakers from different NGOs participated in the seminar. Irshad Khan Director Rural Development Aga khan Foundation shared his experience on Strenghening Civic Engagmenr for the Implementation of SDGs/MDGs. Mr Sardar Sami Ullah Abbasi, Programme Manager Youth and Volunteerism Dept Pakistan Red Crescent spoke on Role of Volunteerism in Transforming Governance. Mr Khaleel Tetley, Chief Operating Officer, Rural Support programmes Network shared his experience and point of views on Role of Civic Engagment in Community Development. All the three seminars were concluded by Mr Senator M Akram Zaki Chairman PIHRO and shields were distributed among the speakers.
